Take precautions against dengue, Zika virus: Min to DC

The state minister ordered a temporary clinic to be installed and check up spots in the areas with high dengue incidence

BENGALURU, 4 JULY

 


Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao has instructed District Collectors across the state to remain vigilant not only against dengue but also the Zika virus. The state minister ordered a temporary clinic to be installed and check up spots in the areas with high dengue incidence and also will help to prevent Zika virus.

 

 

 Speaking to reporters, Health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “There is a suspected case of Zika Virus in Shivamogga and In the next few days the district collectors should come with temporary clinics in areas with high dengue incidence and testing for Zika Virus ensuring anyone with fever undergoes dengue testing to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment, thereby preventing fatalities associated with delayed treatment.”

 

 

The health Minister stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns, directing district administrations to engage ASHA workers in door-to-door visits. He further instructed medical officers to educate school children about dengue prevention through science teachers and the BBMP officials to proactive larval control. PTI
