Child rights panel files case after 3 kids found dead in sewage plant

Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) has registered a suo moto case following the death of three children in the Vijayapura sewage water processing unit.

 

Adressing reporters on Wednesday, KSCPCR member Shashidhar Kosambe said that the commission has registered a case against Vijayapura City Municipal.

 

Anushka Anil Dahinde, 9, and Vijay Anil Dahinde, 7, both from Gadag and Mihir Srikant Janagouli, 7, were found dead at the sewage water plant on Monday. Anushka and Vijay had come to their maternal uncle’s home in Vijayapura. Parents had alleged that the negligence of municipal staff.

 

Kosambe further stated that Vijayapura District Child Protection Officers have been tasked with gathering information and compiling a detailed report to ascertain the circumstances leading to death.

 

Once the report is submitted, Kosambe said the commission will seek the the government’s suggestion and proceed with the action. Salar News
