Mysuru, 8 April

BJP high command have ordered Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and Hassan BJP leader Preetham J Gowda to not campaign in their respective constituencies.

The duo had harboured hopes of securing BJP tickets for the upcoming elections but they have now been sidelined. They have expressed their disappointment yet were compelled to engage in campaigning.

Given their influential positions in their constituencies, the high command has mandated that they refrain from campaigning locally and instead focus on canvassing support in other parts of the state. This is to mitigate potential internal conflicts, considering the strong foothold these leaders have in their respective regions. While Simha has been sporadically participating in campaign meetings for BJP candidate Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar in Kodagu, Gowda has been campaigning in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar constituencies.

However, their absence from key events such as the nomination filing of Prajwal Revanna in Hassan, has raised eyebrows, prompting concerns of a divide in voter support. JD(S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda reportedly raised objections to their absence in a joint BJP-JD(S) convention, prompting intervention from the BJP high command. Salar News
