Eshwarappa filed caveat in court over using PM photos

BJP
leader KS Eshwarappa, who is contesting as an independent candidate from
Shivamogga seat, has filed a caveat petition in District Court. He requested
the court to ensure no ex-parte order is passed if Shivamogga district BJP
moves court seeking an order restricting him from using the portrait of Prime
Minister Narendra Modi in his Lok Sabha election campaign.
There
is a war of words between BJP's Shivamogga candidate BY Raghavendra, son of
former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, and Eshwarappa. Raghavendra had ridiculed
Eshwarappa for using Modi's photos during the campaigning. Eshwarappa responded
to it, saying Modi is not the property of Raghavendra's father.
Eshwarappa
is upset with the BJP's decision to deny a ticket to his son KE Kanthesh to
contest the Lok Sabha polls from Haveri seat. Eshwarappa has said Yediyurappa
had betrayed him and vowed to get BY Vijayendra, another son of Yediyurappa,
removed from the post of State BJP chief.
Eshwarappa
had announced that he will file his nomination on 12 April. Union Home Minister
Amit Shah had personally spoken to him over the phone during his visit to
Bengaluru. —Salar News
