Redressal cell for job fair beneficiaries

State government is
planning to set up a redressal cell for aspirants recruited through the
Yuva Samrudhi Sammelana Job Fair to address the issues they encounter in their
workplaces. Often, companies fail to fulfil promises such as timely salary payments,
leaving many employees in a lurch. Nearly 9,000 aspirants were offered jobs on
the spot during a Job Fair in the City on Monday and Tuesday, but concerns
remain about the potential future challenges they may face.
Speaking to Salar News, Minister
for Skill Development and Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil, said,
"We have implemented rules in accordance with minimum wage laws. If a
company fails to comply or delays salary payments, employees can approach the
redressal cell, and the government will take appropriate action."
During the Job Fair organized by
the State Skill Development Corporation on Monday and Tuesday nearly 44,527 job
seekers participated in the fair. 16,865 were shortlisted for the next round,
status of 15,461 applicants is still pending, and 2,547 applicants were
rejected. For the ones who were rejected, government has planned to offer a
special training program to enhance their skills, enabling them to reapply for
jobs.
“State government will start an
overseas employment promotion company like the Kerala model to facilitate
multi-national companies to find required human resources.” Patil added.
According to the provided by the State skill connect portal nearly 50 per cent of candidates turned out for the job fair and now the department plans to extend the programme and introduce division level job fairs which will be held yearly. The upcoming job fair will be held in Kalaburagi, Mysuru, Belagavi and Hubballi. Also government will set up Multi-skill development centers in Koppal, Mysuruand Kalaburagi.

program aimed at graduates to equip them with essential skills. Currently 77
applicants have applied under this initiative.
Industrial Linkage
The programme involves government
collaboration with various companies. Patil said, “The company will let us know
how many employees are needed and requirements of specific skills. If the
applicant lacks the skills we would provide an opportunity to the company to
train them and take them to the job and the government will provide support and
investment to companies to offer training programs to applicants.” Currently 44
