State Cabinet accepts online registration of marriages

Under this, one can now register marriages online using Kaveri 2.0 portal of the Department of Stamps and Registrations.

State Cabinet on Thursday approved Special Marriage Karnataka Amendment Rules, 2024, which will allow marriage registration through e-mail. Under this, one can now register marriages online using Kaveri 2.0 portal of the Department of Stamps and Registrations.

 

The Cabinet, which held a meeting in Vidhana Soudha, has also withdrawn Fixation of Sale Price of Cotton Seeds and Payment of Compensation Bill, 2015. The Cabinet has also resolved to fill the vacancy of upper-level posts- -that now stands at 45 per cent--through the Karnataka Administrative Services Recruitment Amendment Rules, 2024. State has allotted Rs 148 crore for clean drinking water under Jal Jeevan mission Kalaburgi.

 

Belagavi received Rs 114 crore for the same. State granted 39 acres of land for a government university in Hubballi. It will also give 34,000 tool kits to SC/ST students at the cost of Rs 28.28 crore. Kalaburagi will also get Rs 36 crore for a cancer ward with 150 new beds, and 18 medical colleges and 114 modular operation theatres will also come up in the State.

 

The Cabinet has also approved Rs 193 crore to be provided by the Centre for building Unity Mall spanning 6.5 acres in Mysuru. Congress approved a new court complex comprising four halls in Bidar to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 17.50 crore.

 

The government will also give 25,380 smartphones costing Rs 89.61 crore to Anganwadi workers. The State is also planning to start 104 emergency healthcare services at 28 call centres. It also gave Rs 10.5 crore to make regional driving training centres for women at Bidadi, Ramanagara and Hubballi.
