A man missing from Ramanagara was
found as a woman in Mysuru after 6 years. Lakshman from Ramanagara went missing
in 2017 and was found as Vijayalakshmi in Mysuru in 2023.
Lakshman was married in 2015 and
had two children. After he went missing in 2017, the wife filed a missing
complaint suspecting he left because of the pressure of debts, according to a
report by TV9 Kannada.
Despite pressure from the family,
his wife did not remarry and waited for her husband to come back.
Finally, Lakshman was found tracked
through a video that surfaced on social media. Lakshman was present at a
felicitation function for Biggboss Kannada transgender contestant Neetu
Vanajakshi. The police spotted the now Vijayalakshmi in the video and found a
resemblance with Lakshman. They contacted Rashmika, the owner of the video, who
is a transgender activist and got Vijayalakshmi’s address from her.
When the police visited
Vijayalakshmi’s address, they found that there was no resemblance between
Lakshman and Vijayalakshmi except the facial features. Vijayalakshmi also
argued that she was not Lakshman and she did not know who Lakshman was. The
police who almost left her residence, called out “Lakshman” and Vijayalakshmi
immediately responded.
The police immediately brought him
to Ramanagara Police Station and when questioned about it, he said he was never
interested in women and requested the police to let him go. He said he does not
want his wife and kids and that he prefers his third-gender community members.
