Police booked 90 people and arrested 39 people in connection with a group clash in Hallare village in Nanjanagud taluk in Mysuru.

 

A dispute over the installation of a nameplate of Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Hallare village of Nanjanagudu town leads to a violent clash resulting in injuries to three policemen. More than 30 vehicles were damaged and injured 12 people. In the aftermath of the incident, cases have been registered against 90 individuals through three separate FIRs at Nanjangud rural police station. The police arrested 39 individuals from the two groups and sent them to judicial custody after a medical examination.

 

The clash unfolded as one group, led by Abhishek, was installing a nameplate at a roundabout near the village bus stand. The Opposition headed by Anka Nayka, expressed objection to the installation, leading to a verbal altercation escalating into a violent clash. In his complaint, Abhishek detailed the ransacking of their building, stone-pelting, and damage to houses, tiles, roofs, and vehicles.

 

Simultaneously, Nayka lodged a police complaint against 25 people from Abhishek's group. The clash also resulted in an attack on the police, leading Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) C Jagadish of Nanjangudu rural police station to file a complaint against 27 people, including allegations of obstructing government work.

 

During the clash, PSI Jagadish and constables Nagesh and Kiran were also reportedly attacked.

 

Speaking on the matter, Superintendent of Police Seema Latkar said that the situation in Hallare village has been brought under control, and a peace meeting will be organised in the village soon. Police patrols have been increased in the vicinity of Hallare, Hura, and Hullahalli villages to ensure the safety of residents. Salar News
