KIA Bengaluru wins Best Airport of the Year Award
Kempegowda International Airport was also conferred with the ‘>25 MPPA Traffic Award’ under the airports category

Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has been recognised as the Best Airport of the Year at the Wings India Awards 2024.
At the award ceremony held in Hyderabad on January 18, the airport was also conferred with the ‘>25 MPPA Traffic Award’ under the airports category.
The recognition was made after looking at the measures taken regarding operational excellence, passenger experience, environmental stewardship, and making use of the latest technologies.
In the past year, the airport saw an increase in passengers. Hence, the airport has increased its number of entry gates, check-in counters and information display boards. All international operations were moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, which spans 255,661 square metres, equipped to handle 25 million passengers annually.
The airport has also banned the use of plastic on-premises and has taken afforestation drives. The airport has 60 artworks that display the culture and heritage of India. The airport secured the top position as the most punctual airport in October 2023.
The awards were presented by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Vistara was conferred with the Best Airline of the Year award while Air India was recognised for its International connectivity. On the other hand, the award for regional connectivity went to Alliance Air. Salar News
