Congress will hold Lok Sabha Election Committee meeting on 19 January in City’s Indira Bhavan at 4pm, said Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday.

He added that party workers will also meet on 21 January in Mangaluru.

"Observers from Delhi will attend the meet on 19 January where the report submitted by district in-charge ministers on Lok Sabha candidate selection will be discussed after which the names will be announced,” said Shivakumar.

Reportedly, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is also expected to attend the party workers meet.

Meanwhile, Shivakumar said that the Corporation and Board selection list will be published soon. He dismissed the possibility of postponing the list.

“We will give the appointment to all the people that we promised during the election," he said

‘Anantkumar Hegde lacks mental stability’

Shivakumar dubbed BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde as a mentally unstable person. The Deputy Chief Minister was reacting to Hegde’s remarks against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He said, "People with mental instability will talk like that. It is a good development that BJP leaders have understood that his words were wrong."

Shivakumar wished the people of the State for Sankranthi and prayed for relief from the drought.
