Lokayukta sleuths raid six government officials in disproportionate assets case

Lokayukta sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of several government officials in Ramanagara and Vijayapura districts.


The raids were led by Ramanagara Lokayukta DSP Gautam in the wee hours of Tuesday for disproportionate and benami assets. The raids targeted properties associated with a supporter of former minister ST Somashekar, Channenahalli Gram Panchayat member Suresh, and his friend Ramesh, in Bengaluru South Taluk. Residences of several other government officials from Bengaluru, including the farmhouse, and other properties of Manjesh, a development engineer in Anekal were also raided.


In the Kudligi taluk of Vijayapura district, Lokayukta police conducted searches at the residence of Gescom General Manager Nagaraj, who was called for investigation. The raids further extended to a BEd college and four other educational institutions linked to Nagaraj.


Nagaraj also reportedly owns two petrol bunks in Koodligi.


Lokayukta sleuths also raided premises of a relative of AEE Bengaluru Syed Muneer Ahmed at Gudibande. —PTI
