 BENGALURU, 8 MAY

In preparation for the IPL match on 13 May between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, city police have implemented stringent security measures around key locations, particularly near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.  Following a directive from the central government to enhance security at public venues, over 70 police personnel have been assigned to oversee all entry and exit points, as well as to monitor crowds on match day.  In addition to the stadium, vigilance has been heightened at metro stations, shopping centres, and other bustling areas across the city. Officials are conducting random checks while maintaining a continuous patrol as a precautionary measure.  Police sources indicate that these enhanced security protocols are part of a broader strategy aimed at preventing any potential incidents, especially in light of recent national counter-terror operations. Authorities reassured the public that there is no specific threat but urged vigilance and cooperation with security measures.
