Fatima Sana to lead Pakistan in ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier
Six countries, including Pakistan, will compete for two spots in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025

Pakistan has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's
Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier. The country will host a 10-day qualifying
tournament starting 9 April.
According to an ICC report, six countries will compete for the final two
spots in the 13th edition of the 50-over World Cup scheduled to be held later
this year. These countries are Pakistan, West Indies, Thailand, Scotland,
Ireland and Bangladesh.
Bowling allrounder Nida Dar is away from the team, she was one of the 19
players selected for the training camp to prepare for the qualifier tournament.
Fast bowling allrounder Fatima Sana, who captained Pakistan in the ICC
Women's T20 World Cup last year, will retain her role as the captain of the
team.
Young player Shawal Zulfiqar is making a comeback to the national team
for the first time since 2023 after taking a break from cricket due to a
shoulder injury.
The full list of selected players is as follows, Fatima Sana (captain),
Naziha Alvi, Gul Feroza, Sidra Amin, Omaima Sohail, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig,
Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sundhu, Muniba Ali, Rameen Shamim, Shawal Zulfiqar, Sayeeda
Aroob Shah, Natalia Pervez, Sidra Nawaz.
Each team will compete against the others once, and the top two teams
will eventually qualify for the Cricket World Cup in India. Thailand is yet to
announce team names for the upcoming match.
