Costa Navarino, Mar 20,

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced during the governing body's 144th session that Boxing has now been included in the Los Angeles Olympics 2028. The decision comes after the IOC last month granted provisional recognition to World Boxing, effectively sidelining the International Boxing Association (IBA) and transferring power to the new governing body.

The sport was not part of the programme for the next Olympics when the programme was first announced in 2022. Last year the IOC had made it clear that national boxing federations would have to come to a consensus about a new international federation for boxing to be included in the Games programme.
