At just 24 years old, India's emerging cricket star Abhishek Sharma is already making waves in T20 cricket, thanks to his unwavering self-belief and fearlessness. Since debuting on the international stage less than a year ago, the Punjab batter has shattered records, including achieving the joint-third fastest T20I century for an Indian (46 balls) in just his second match. His latest achievement came with a remarkable 37-ball century against England, marking his second T20I ton.
Abhishek credits his success to the guidance of Yuvraj Singh, who has played a pivotal role in his development. "Yuvi Paaji believed in me, and when someone like him says you are going to play for the country, it boosts your confidence," Abhishek stated after scoring an impressive 135 runs off 54 balls, surpassing Shubman Gill's previous T20I record.
Support from the Indian team management has also bolstered Abhishek's confidence. He reflected on coaches and players encouraging him to play freely and assured him of their backing, which he considers vital motivation.
