Iraqi national held at Delhi airport for smuggling 1.2 kg gold: Customs
A 64-year-old Iraqi man was arrested at Delhi airport on 7 Apr for smuggling 1.2 kg of gold from Baghdad. Customs officials detected the gold hidden in baggage during screening. Further investigation is underway under the Customs Act, 1962.

Khultabad town, housing Aurangzeb tomb, to be renamed as Ratnapur: Minister
Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat announced Khultabad, site of Aurangzeb's tomb, will be renamed Ratnapur. The move is part of efforts to replace names linked to Mughal rule. A memorial for Shivaji and Sambhaji Maharaj is also planned at the site.

Man sentenced to 20 years for raping Dalit girl in 2018
On 7 April, a Ghaziabad court sentenced Vikas to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment for raping a 3-year-old Dalit girl on December 28, 2018 near Bamheta canal. He was caught at the scene. A ₹50,000 fine was imposed; non-payment adds one year to the sentence.

Girl stabbed publicly in Delhi for refusing marriage proposal; critical condition
A 17-year-old girl was brutally stabbed in public at Kirbi Place, southwest Delhi, after rejecting a marriage proposal. The 20-year-old accused, known to her, used a kitchen knife in the planned attack. Both are in critical condition at DDU Hospital.
