Arsenal beat Real Madrid 2-1 on 16 April to reach the Champions League semifinals for the first time since 2009. VAR played a crucial role in two penalty calls. Saka and Martinelli scored for Arsenal, who now face PSG. Madrid’s comeback hopes fell short.

Markets trade lower in early trade dragged down by IT stocks
Markets opened lower on 17 April as Sensex fell 362 pts to 76,682.29 and Nifty dropped 129.75 pts to 23,307.45, led by a slump in IT stocks after Wipro warned of weak Q1FY26. Asian markets traded higher while US markets closed lower on 16 April.

No police protection for couples marrying against parents' wishes
The Allahabad High Court ruled on 4 Apr that couples marrying against their parents' wishes can't claim police protection as a right unless there is a real threat to life or liberty. The plea by Shreya Kesarwani and her husband was dismissed.
