OpenAI recruits legendary iPhone designer Jony Ive to work on AI hardware in $6.5B deal
On 21 May, OpenAI announced it is acquiring io, co-founded by legendary iPhone designer Jony Ive, in a $6.5B deal. Ive will lead AI hardware design via his firm LoveFrom, which remains independent. He has worked with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman since 2023.
