Bomb threat emails force evacuation of 30+ schools, courts across 3 States
Police evacuated and searched campuses with bomb squads, sniffer dogs and SDRF teams, but nothing suspicious was found.

Schools
in Chandigarh and Gurugram and district courts in Chhattisgarh were placed on
high alert on Wednesday after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting
evacuations and security checks across the three regions.
As many
as 26 government and private schools in Chandigarh received threat emails in
the morning, leading to the evacuation of students and staff and the deployment of bomb disposal and sniffer dog squads.
Senior
Superintendent of Police Kanwardeep Kaur said calls were received from 26
schools and anti-sabotage checks in 10 institutions found nothing suspicious so
far, with searches continuing elsewhere.
An FIR
has been registered at Sector 17 police station, and the cyber team is examining
the Gmail account used to send the threats. Authorities advised schools and
parents to remain calm.
In
Gurugram, at least six private schools received threat emails at 7.10am. Police
said campuses were evacuated and searched, with bomb squads, sniffer dogs and
SDRF teams deployed. No suspicious objects have been found, officials said.
Meanwhile,
three district courts in Chhattisgarh, Rajnandgaon, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur,
were evacuated after anonymous emails threatened explosions. Police conducted
thorough searches and said nothing suspicious was detected. Investigations are
under way to trace the source of the emails.
