Hyderabad, 30 Nov

A software employee was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with an air hostess on a Dubai–Hyderabad flight, police said on Sunday.

According to a complaint filed by the cabin crew, the passenger, a Kerala native, allegedly touched the woman while she was providing services on Friday. RGI Airport Police Inspector Kankaiah Samapathi said he was booked for sexualharassment.

The crew also observed that the man, in his 30s, appeared intoxicated. The matter was reported to the captain and ground staff after landing.
Later, the passenger claimed he had misplaced his passport. When staff searched his seat, they found a note containing “obscene and abusive” remarks aimed at crew members.

A case was registered under Section 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), Section 75 (sexual harassment), and other provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

He was arrested and produced before a local court, which sent him to judicial remand, police said.
