Officials said part of the building falls in an encroached zone and the civic body has been asked to clear it, though the owner insists there is no safety risk.

A viral video from Nagpur shows an under-construction flyover beam slicing through the balcony of a residential building at Ashok Square, raising concerns over urban planning.
The house owner claimed the beam passes near the balcony without touching the structure and is 14-15 feet above it, posing no safety risk. He said the portion involved has no utility and does not affect the building.
An NHAI official, however, said part of the house falls in an encroached area and the flyover’s flange portion runs through it. The agency has written to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to remove the encroachment.
The official maintained the flyover does not enter the balcony’s main structure. A senior NMC officer said the building had earlier been given on lease, and the status of the premises will be reviewed before action is taken.
