Padma Shri awardee and renowned chartered accountant T N Manoharan died in his sleep in Mumbai on Tuesday at the age of 69.

Family sources said the former ICAI president is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Manoharan was widely known for his instrumental role in the revival of Satyam Computers following the corporate fraud scandal. He also served as chairman of Canara Bank and IDBI Bank, and was regarded as a towering figure in Indian finance and corporate governance.

His death is being mourned across the financial and professional community, with tributes pouring in for his leadership, integrity, and lasting contributions to the accounting profession.
