Punjabi Star Tania’s Father Shot Inside Clinic; Police Probe Points to Security Lapse

In a brazen broad daylight attack, Dr Aniljeet Kamboj —
father of renowned Punjabi actress Tania
was critically injured after being shot inside his clinic in Kot Ise
Khan, Moga, on Friday.
According to eyewitnesses, two unidentified men entered
Harbans Nursing Home, located just 100 metres from the local police station,
posing as patients. They fired two bullets into Dr Kamboj’s back before fleeing
the scene. He was rushed to a private hospital in Moga, where he is on
ventilator in critical condition.
Preliminary inquiries reveal that Dr Kamboj had received
extortion threats two years ago and was assigned police protection, which was
later withdrawn as no further threats were reported. The attack occurred around
1pm at the town’s main intersection, confirmed Moga SSP Ajay Gandhi, who said
multiple investigation teams had been deployed and assured the culprits would
be nabbed soon.
As the incident drew widespread attention, actress Tania
took to Instagram with an emotional plea, urging the media and public to
respect her family’s privacy and refrain from speculation. Meanwhile, the probe
is underway, with mounting focus on possible security lapses and an intensified
manhunt for the unidentified assailants.
