MUMBAI, 11 MAY

Regional airline Star Air has announced the launch of direct flight services from Kolhapur to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur, commencing on 15 May.

Currently, Star Air operates 16 weekly flights (both direct and connecting) from Kolhapur to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Tirupati. This latest expansion will elevate the airline’s offering to seven destinations, increasing weekly flight frequencies to 28.

As part of this upgrade, Star Air will also enhance its existing Mumbai-Kolhapur-Mumbai and Kolhapur-Ahmedabad-Kolhapur routes by replacing the 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with 76-seater ERJ-175 aircraft, which includes business class seating.

The launch of these new services is in line with the summer schedule network expansion plan of the Kolhapur-headquartered Sanjay Ghodawat Group, which operates the airline. From 3 June, Star Air will operate a total of 32 weekly flights from Kolhapur to seven destinations, including Kishangarh.

Captain Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, stated that this expansion aims to enhance connectivity across regional centres in India.
