Ahmedabad, 9 April
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram was discharged from the hospital on 9 April after he fainted at the Sabarmati Ashram. "I suffered from dehydration due to extreme heat. All tests are normal. I am completely healthy now. Thank you all," Chidambaram posted on X. Earlier in the day, he attended an extended meeting of the Congress Working Committee at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial.
The incident took place when the Congress leader was attending a prayer meeting at the Sabarmati Ashram on 8 April. Other leaders helped Chidambaram into an ambulance, which took him to the hospital. The 79-year-old former finance minister's son Karti Chidambaram later said on X that his father is fine and is being examined by doctors.
