Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav joins BJP in Mumbai
Jadhav retired from cricket in June 2024. His exact role in the party remains unclear

Mumbai, 8 April
Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav joined the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 8 April. Jadhav, 39, who announced his
retirement from all forms of international cricket in June 2024, joined the
ruling party in the presence of state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule and
other leaders.
"He will tour the state and meet the youth. He
will help strengthen the BJP's sports wing in Maharashtra," Bawankule
said. There was no official statement on what role or responsibility Jadhav
would be given in the party.
Jadhav represented India in 73 ODIs and nine T20Is
since his international debut in 2014. In 2012, he scored a Ranji Trophy triple
century for Maharashtra against Uttar Pradesh, becoming the second-highest
run-scorer.
