Hyderabad, March 13 Two women journalists, Pogadadanda Revathi, managing director of Pulse News, and reporter Bandi Sandhya, were arrested by Hyderabad cybercrime police on Wednesday for allegedly circulating a video with derogatory remarks about Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy and the state government. The arrests followed a 10 March complaint by the Telangana Congress’s social media cell, accusing them of spreading politically motivated content. BRS leader KT Rama Rao criticised the arrests, questioning the Congress government's commitment to free speech. The video in question shows an elderly farmer using abusive language against Congress leaders, accusing them of not fulfilling election promises. Police are working to identify the farmer, and Revathi, before her arrest, claimed the CM was trying to silence her and that her family was being threatened.
