Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt paid heartfelt tributes to veteran star Dharmendra, their co-star from Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.

The actors shared emotional posts on their social media accounts, along with pictures from the film’s sets. Ranveer postedan image of himself with the late actor on Instagram, expressing grief over his passing.

Alia also shared a picture capturing a warm moment with Dharmendra. “A legend who lit up every frame and every heart. You will be missed, Dharam ji,” she wrote.

‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, marking Johar’s return to direction, released in 2023 with Ranveer and Alia in the lead, alongside Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Tota Roy Chowdhury. Dharmendra portrayed Kanwal Lund, the grandfather of Ranveer’s character.

The film explored the cultural and familial differences between Rocky, a free-spirited Punjabi youth, and Rani, an ambitious Bengali news anchor, who test their relationship by living with each other’s families.

Dharmendra died at his Mumbai residence on Monday at the age of 89 after a period of ill health. Ranveer Singh, accompanied by Deepika Padukone, attended the funeral to pay his respects.

The actor had recently been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital after his family opted for home treatment. Widely knownas the ‘He-Man’ of Indian cinema, Dharmendra starred in several iconic films including Sholay, Dharmveer, Chupke Chupke, Loafer, Jugnu and Seeta Aur Geeta.
