Filming on HBO's 'Harry Potter' series begins
The upcoming series is based on novels by JK Rowling, and is described as a 'more in-depth' adaptation of Rowling's books as compared to the eight-part film franchise.

The makers of the
upcoming series have started the production of the project,
which is expected to release in 2027.

is based on novels by JK Rowling, and is described as a "more
in-depth" adaptation of Rowling's books as compared to the eight-part film
franchise.
It stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout in the role of Ron Weasley. The characters were previously played by
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
HBO shared the news
with a post on its official Instagram handle on Monday. The post featured
McLaughlin, dressed as his character and holding a clapperboard, which had ‘14.07.25’
written over it. "First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production," read the caption.
The show is directed
by ‘Succession’ fame Mark Mylod and will follow orphaned wizard Harry Potter
entering Hogwarts and starting his battle with Lord Voldemor
Other actors in the
series are John Lithgow, who will feature as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as
Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost in the role of
Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus
Filch.
