The accident took place on 24 March when Sonali was travelling with her sister and nephew late at night. Her nephew, who was driving the car, also suffered injuries. He and Sonali are currently being treated at Max Hospital in Nagpur. The actor informed fans about his wife's condition, saying that she is fine and miraculously survived this brutal accident.

Sonu Sood reached Nagpur upon hearing the news. The actor's spokesperson confirmed the incident and said, "Yes, Sonali has met with an accident. Sonu is currently unavailable." Doctors at the hospital have kept close observation on the situation, and medical care has been planned for the next 48-72 hours. However, Sonali's sister suffered only minor injuries.
