SIT probing CJ Roy's death: Karnataka HM Parameshwara
CJ Roy allegedly died by suicide amid income tax raids at his premises.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on
Sunday said that an SIT has begun its probe into the death of CJ Roy, founder
and chairman of the Confident Group.
Meanwhile, the last rites of the real
estate tycoon, who was found dead at his office on 30 January with bullet
injuries, were performed on Sunday in the presence of family members, friends
and admirers.
He allegedly died by suicide amid incometax raids at his premises.
A native of Kerala, he was laid to rest at
Confident Cascade near Bannerghatta here.
The SIT is being led by joint commissioner
of police, Vamshi Krishna.
On allegations by some Congress leaders
that agencies like IT, ED and CBI were being misused by the Centre, and whether
there were any links to upcoming polls in Kerala, he said, "without
knowing, we cannot say anything. Let the probe report come.”
An unnatural death report was registered in
the case.
His brother CJ Babu said Roy had last
called him in the morning of 30 January to enquire about his return from
Thailand and had not mention the IT raids.
Roy's son Rohit said, "My father was a
great man and…... I'm not very sure what caused it…”
Meanwhile, State BJP President BY
Vijayendra, offering condolence to the family, expressed suspicion over the
government hurriedly forming an SIT and the alleged conduct of some Congress
leaders.
