Bengaluru cops file case after software firm reports Rs 87 Cr data breach
Amadeus has claimed the stolen data, valued at around 8 million euros, has caused significant business losses.

Bengaluru, 28 Jan
Bengaluru Police have registered a case following
an alleged data theft worth approximately Rs 87 crore after a leading software
company accused a former employee of illegally transferring sensitive source
code and proprietary data. The FIR, filed by Amadeus Software Labs India at
Whitefield CEN Crime Police Station (Crime No. 0050/2026), names ex-Senior
Manager Ashutosh Nigam.
According to the complaint, Nigam, who
worked as a Senior Manager – Research Scientist, allegedly ex filtrated highly
confidential source code and data on 11 October, 2025 via his personal email
without authorisation. The company became suspicious during an internal review,
questioned him, and reportedly obtained a video-recorded confession. Following
this, his employment was terminated on 3 December, 2025.
Amadeus has claimed the stolen data, valued at around 8 million euros, has caused significant business losses and poses a threat to its intellectual property rights. The case is registered under Sections 65, 66, 66(C), and 66(D) of the IT Act, 2000, and an investigation is underway.
