Umrah visa: Bengaluru’s DIY Umrah has you covered

Most Indian applicants now complete biometrics via apps or on arrival, making visa centre visits unnecessary.

Bengaluru, 25 Jan

Ehsan Gaffar, founder of Bengaluru-based travel brands DIYUmrah and UmrahVisa.in, has issued an urgent advisory regarding significant changes to Saudi Arabia’s digital visa policies. Operating under the GST-compliant parent entity Omni Trips, Gaffar warns that local families are being misinformed about visa validity and biometrics.

The most critical update for 2026 is the shortened entry window. While an Umrah visa allows a stay of up to 90 days, the visa itself now expires 30 days after issuance.

Flight deals

"Many pilgrims in Bengaluru apply months early to secure flight deals, but if you do not enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of approval, the visa is automatically void," says Ehsan Gaffar.

"At DIY Umrah, we recommend applying only 15–20 days before departure to ensure the visa remains valid," he added.

Digital booking

Umrah visas must be linked to a Booking Reference Number (BRN) for accommodation and transport, verified via the Nusuk platform. Manual vouchers are no longer sufficient; digital records must match passport detailsexactly to trigger visa approval.

On biometrics clarification, Gaffar notes that pilgrims often waste time seeking physical biometric appointments. Most Indian applicants now process biometrics via mobile apps or at the point of entry, making unnecessary trips to visa centers a distraction from securing mandatory digital booking codes.

DIY Umrah and UmrahVisa.in are specialised brands powered by Omni Trips, a premier travel entity in Bengaluru. Led by Ehsan Gaffar, the group provides full customised packages and expert assistance with hotel bookings via the Nusuk platform, ensuring Indian pilgrims receive verified and seamless travel solutions.
