3 Nigerians arrested; drugs worth Rs 4 cr seized in City

BENGALURU, 7 JULY
Three Nigerian nationals have been
apprehended in Rajanukunte, near Kempegowda International Airport in the City
with authorities seizing 2.8kg of synthetic narcotics and nearly 400kg of hydro
ganja valued at over Rs 4 crore. Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police, CK
Baba, revealed the men had entered India on medical visas and were found to be
overstaying. Following a thorough investigation and surveillance, police
discovered the drugs concealed within cardboard sheets used for clothing
packaging. The suspects, who arrived via Delhi in December 2024, have been
charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities are continuing to investigate potential larger networks involving
drug trafficking.
