During the ongoing
'AI for India' summit, experts stressed the need for enhanced research and
development (R&D) initiatives from both industry and academia to
effectively adapt to rapid technological advancements. Professor Ganesh Ramakrishnan of IIT Bombay
remarked on the critical role of R&D across sectors, stating, "It's
not just AI that requires adaptation; industries must evolve with all
disruptive technologies." IIM Bangalore's Director, Rishikesha Krishnan,
highlighted changes in industry expectations, with firms increasingly
questioning how prospective employees will leverage AI in their operations. The
'AI for India' summit is designed to encourage collaboration among industry
leaders, academic institutions, and policymakers, fostering a robust ecosystem
for the country's AI development.
