Swedish firm Epiroc targets Karnataka investment growth
Karnataka Minister MB Patil met Swedish firm Epiroc in Sweden to discuss a Rs 1,500 crore expansion plan. Patil pitched Karnataka as a manufacturing hub; Epiroc’s Bengaluru R&D already drives 25 per cent of its global research.

Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, MB
Patil, met with Swedish firm Epiroc during a roadshow in Sweden to discuss
expansion plans in the State. The meeting is part of Karnataka’s efforts to
attract global investment and bolster its reputation as a hub for advanced
manufacturing and innovation.
Arun Kumar, head
of Epiroc’s India operations, outlined the company’s long-term vision,
including a capital investment of Rs 500 crore this year and a further Rs 1,000
crore by 2030.
Patil highlighted
Karnataka’s industrial strengths, skilled workforce, and supportive ecosystem,
positioning it as an ideal location for Epiroc’s manufacturing growth. Epiroc’s
Bangalore R&D centre employs over 500 staff and accounts for 25 per cent of
the company’s global research output.
