A
24-year-old man tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident after a pet
dog, held by his pillion passenger, unexpectedly moved, leading to a loss of
control near the Kanakapura toll gate on NICE Road.
The victim,
identified as Chetan, resided in Weavers Colony, Bengaluru, and worked as a
food delivery executive, supporting his family as their sole breadwinner.
According
to the Talaghattapura Traffic Police, Chetan and a friend were returning from
Arsikere Temple on a motorbike with the friend carrying the pet dog around 9.15 pm on Sunday. As they approached the toll gate, the dog became restless,
causing Chetan to lose balance and collide with another motorcycle ahead.
Chetan was
thrown from the bike and sustained critical injuries. Despite being rushed to
hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries en route. His friend, who was
also injured in the incident, is currently receiving treatment.
The Talaghattapura Traffic Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution when travelling with pets, emphasising that even minor distractions can lead to devastating consequences.
