Police hunt for Bengaluru molestation suspect in Andhra

BENGALURU 10 APRIL
A week after a video of a woman being molested in BTM Layout went viral, City
police have identified the suspect as a local resident and are closing in on
his whereabouts.
Five special teams have been formed to trace the accused.
One team has been dispatched to Andhra Pradesh and another to Tamil Nadu
following strong leads. The remaining teams are carrying out intensive searches
across various areas of Bengaluru.
According to sources, the man—seen riding a two-wheeler
in the area prior to the incident—is believed to be from BTM Layout.
Investigators have reviewed over 1,000 CCTV cameras to trace his movements and
connections, if any.

Jagalasar, told Salar News that the suspect fled the city after realising
police teams were tracking him. The incident, which occurred at 1.52 am on 3
April, came to light after CCTV footage surfaced online. It showed two women
walking down a lane when a man on a scooter groped one of them and sped away.
Though no formal complaint was lodged by the victims, the police took suo motu cognisance and launched an investigation.
