Bengaluru, 10 April
After weeks of patchy pre-monsoon showers across State,
the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate
rainfall in Bengaluru and surrounding areas over the next two days.
According to IMD, the City is likely to experience a
generally cloudy sky with chances of rain during evening and night on 10 and 11
April.
A yellow alert has been issued for Bengaluru, with IMD
officials noting the possibility of isolated rainfall in interior regions of
the State. Some areas may also witness thunder, lightning, and gusty winds.
In the past 24 hours, districts such as Dakshina Kannada,
Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Vijayapura, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Kodagu,
Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Shivamogga, and Davanagere have recorded light to
moderate rainfall.
Coastal and Malnad regions are also likely to see
continued showers, while interior Karnataka may experience sporadic rain and
brief localised storms due to increased atmospheric moisture.
The rain is expected to bring some relief from the recent
heatwave, though weather experts caution that sudden changes in wind patterns
could occur. Residents are advised to carry umbrellas and plan evening commutes
carefully, as showers may disrupt traffic across the city.
