BENGALURU, 8 APRIL
A 40-year-old
woman from Tamil Nadu has been arrested for the theft of gold jewellery worth
Rs 10 lakh, just two days after starting a job as a domestic helper. The
accused, identified as Kalpana, was employed at the home of Raghav Reddy in
Suddaguntepalya.
Police reported
that she seized the opportunity to steal 128 grams of gold when the family was
away and fled the scene.
The theft was discovered shortly after the family noticed the valuables were missing, prompting them to file a police report. Given the suspicious timing, Kalpana quickly became a suspect. She was located and apprehended, with the stolen gold recovered and returned to its owners. Authorities are investigating whether she has a prior history of similar offences.
