Who’s ready for Suppandi — the clueless, ever-suspicious, yet loveable goofball — to leap off the comic pages and into an AI-powered animated adventure?

That’s right. Suppandi, the village simpleton who’s been making Tinkle readers laugh since 1983, is stepping into the world of cutting-edge animation, reimagined in glorious 3D using the latest AI-driven animation technology.

Unveiled at Bengaluru GAFX 2025 on Thursday, the Suppandi Animated Show marked its grand world premiere, blending nostalgia with modern storytelling tech. And who better to launch this iconic character into the future than actor-producer and lifelong Tinkle fan Rana Daggubati?

Daggubati, beaming with the glee of a fanboy turned filmmaker, further revealed the teaser for Wingstar, Tinkle’s very own superheroine from the Northeast, who’s not only getting her animated debut but is also set for a live-action adaptation, developed with a collaboration between Zebu Animation Studios and Amar Chitra Katha (ACK).

"These characters shaped my love for storytelling," Daggubati said, "and bringing them to a new generation, especially here in Bengaluru, feels like coming full circle."

Preeti Vyas, President & CEO of ACK said that to bring these characters to life with AI and share them with a new generation is a dream come true.
