Afternoon showers bring relief from heat

Bengaluru witnessed a much-needed respite from the summer heat on Friday as rains lashed various parts of the City in the afternoon. The downpour, which began around 2:15pm, caused some traffic disruptions and waterlogging.

 

Several areas received moderate to heavy rainfall. Cantonment, Rajajinagar, Malleswaram, Vasanth Nagar, Banaswadi, HBR Layout, Kammanahalli, Lingarajapuram, BTM Layout, Jayanagar, Basaveshwaranagar, Kamakshipalya, Kengeri and Nayandahalli experienced a good spell of rain, with JP Nagar witnessing a shower of hail stones.

 

Sadashivanagar, Seshadripuram, Shivajinagar, Bellandur, CV Raman Nagar, Marathahalli, Whitefield, Kalyan Nagar, Hebbal, Mathikere, Bommasandra, Electronic City, Kothnur and Rajarajeshwari Nagar reported drizzling.
