A newborn girl found abandoned in the alleys between the two buildings of Rajanna Layout in Jayanagar died on Saturday early morning. The baby was found by the residents on Thursday night. It was attacked by cats and rats before being rescued by a resident.

The infant was immediately taken to Indira Gandhi Hospital for medical care. Tilak Nagar police officer told Salar News, "The baby was left unattended for two days, and the residents ignored the baby's cries, thinking it was a cat. Later, one of the residents found the baby lying in the alley."

The distressing news of the abandoned baby has circulated widely on social media, prompting calls for action against the parents who abandoned the baby. Social activist, Member of Parliament, and former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, wrote a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take swift action in this case.

Taking it to social media, Swati Maliwal said, "A heart-wrenching video of a 'one-day-old' girl being thrown from a building and murdered in Bengaluru has gone viral. The girl has died in the hospital. A letter has been written to @siddaramaiah ji that an FIR should be lodged immediately and strict action should be taken against the criminals." Police are yet to trace the parents.
