Traffic snarls in City during PM visit

Traffic snarls were witnessed in Central Business Districts (CBD). The other roads including Airport flyover, Hebbal stretch and Millers Tank Bund road face traffic snarls too.

Bengaluru, 19 Jan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to City on Friday created bumper-to-bumper traffic across the city on Friday. Traffic snarls were witnessed in Central Business Districts (CBD).


The other roads including Airport flyover, Hebbal stretch and Millers Tank Bund road face traffic snarls too. Commuters had to take lengthy detours as the traffic police had blocked several roads. “It took me an hour from my home in Sadashivnagar to reach MG Road, and I had to take many detours,” said S Spoorty.


The commuters complained that the trip which would take them 10 minutes every day, had taken them 45 minutes on Friday.  Modi visited City to inaugurate Boeing’s India Engineering and Technology Centre (BIETC) near Devanahalli.


Traffic movement was restricted at Gollahalli Gate to Hunachuru (KIADB Industrial Area), Airlines Dhabi (NH 648) to Budigere, and Hennur-Bagalur Main Road to Airport Road among other areas. Traffic on the Airport road was also affected due to the VIP movement.
