Faridabad, Nov 12

In a breakthrough in the investigation into the Delhi Red Fort blast, the Haryana Police on Wednesday recovered a red Ford EcoSport linked to the prime suspect, Dr Umar-un-Nabi, officials said.

The vehicle, bearing registration number DL10CK0458, was found abandoned near Khandawali village in Faridabad district.

According to officials, the Delhi Police, in coordination with police forces from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, had been on high alert to trace the car, which was believed to have been used for reconnaissance activities connected to the 10 November blast near the Red Fort metro station.

At least 12 people were killed and several others injured when a Hyundai i20 car exploded near the historic monument in central Delhi, prompting a massive counter-terror investigation.

Police sources said the recovery of the EcoSport marks a significant step in identifying the wider terror network allegedly responsible for the attack. The vehicle is suspected to have been used by Umar-un-Nabi and his associates before the blast.

Forensic teams have been dispatched to examine the car for explosive residue, fingerprints, and other material evidence.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has taken over the case, are continuing coordinated efforts to track additional vehicles and suspects linked to the terror module behind the explosion.

Officials said investigators are also working to establish whether the recovered vehicle was part of a larger conspiracy involving multiple operatives and safe houses across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
